Resident Playwright for Classical Adaptation (2015)
Kristin Idaszak is a playwright and theatre artist originally from Chicago. She is currently a Playwrights’ Center Jerome Fellow. Her play SECOND SKIN received the Paula Vogel Playwriting Award, the Jean Kennedy Smith Playwriting Award, and an Honorable Mention for the Kilroys List. Her play THE LIAR PARADOX also received an Honorable Mention for the Kilroys List and was developed through a Downstage Left Playwriting Residency at Stage Left Theatre in Chicago. Her work has also been developed through residencies at the city of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and the Qualcomm Institute. Kristin was the 2015 Kennedy Center Fellow at the Sundance Theatre Lab. As a deviser, Kristin’s work has been seen at the WoW Festival at La Jolla Playhouse and the Blurred Borders Festival, an international showcase of contemporary dance theatre. Previously, Kristin served as Associate Artistic Director/Literary Manager of Caffeine Theatre and Associate Artistic Director of Collaboraction. MFA: University of California, San Diego.
