Jeremy Desmon, Pump Up the Volume! (Bookwriter & Lyricist), is a musical theatre bookwriter and lyricist whose stories have played to audiences around the world. The Girl in the Frame, seen in over a dozen productions, garnered him the prestigious Kleban Prize as America’s most promising Musical Theatre Bookwriter. Recent productions includeSurviving the Avalanche, I See London, I See France (The Underwear Musical) and Virtually Me. He is also the author of7½ Wondrous Act(s) of True Love, a farcical new non-musical comedy. If you’re under four feet tall, you may recognize Jeremy from international “touring arena shows” where he’s written for monkeys (Curious George Live! ), mice (Disney Live! ), monsters (Elmo Rocks! ) and real, honest-to-God elephants (multiple editions of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus). Nothing, so far, has been on ice. For the past three years, Jeremy has worked at Princeton University, where he leads a musical theatre writing workshop. Every June, he helps run the American Theatre Wing’s SpringboardNYC program, with the mission of acclimating young performing arts students in the New York theatre community. He lives with his wife, Hilary, in Manhattan right around the corner from Starbucks.
