Kirk Domer, Professor of Scene Design, received his BA from Ashland University and MFA in Scene Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a proud member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, and the United States Institute for Theatre Technology.


His book entitled Collaboration in Theatre about the collaboration process between director and designer, co-written with colleague Rob Roznowksi was published by Palgrave Macmillan.


As the Resident Scene Designer for the Ohio Light Opera, Kirk designed world premieres of A FRIEND OF NAPOLEON and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and the North American Premieres of Emmerich Kálmán’s A SOLDIER’S PROMISE, THE VIOLET OF MONTMARTRE and AUTUMN MANEUVERS.


He has also designed for Stages, A.D. Players, Williamston Theatre, Eastman Opera, The Ohio Light Opera, City Lit Theatre, Mitch Albom Productions, Jewish Ensemble Theatre, Performance Network, BoarsHead Theater, Madison Repertory Theatre, Wharton Center, and Make*a*Circus. 

Kirk designed two world premiere productions by internationally renowned and best-selling author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television broadcaster, and musician Mitch Albom. ERNIE performed at various venues throughout Michigan and Florida, and HOCKEY, THE MUSICAL, toured the State of Michigan.
