Megan Petersen is a lyricist and librettist born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She received her B.F.A. in Film and Television from the University of Arizona, and her M.F.A. from the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program. At NYU she discovered her passion for storytelling rooted in folklore, myth, and demolishing the patriarchy. Most recently, she has worked on the new musical Benny and Joon at Paper Mill Playhouse where she was the assistant to the lyricist, Mindi Dickstein (Little Women), and the bookwriter, Kirsten Guenther. Her work has been performed at Barrington Stage Company as part of a concert produced by William Finn (Falsettos), as well as New York City stages like The Public Theatre and The Duplex. More of her work will premier across Europe and America this upcoming year. She is ecstatic to have Dr. Fox and the Impossible cure for Death be part of MSU’s ĭmáGen workshop.
