Second Stage Logo

Second Stage Productions is a student-driven outlet for the creation of innovative theatre in the MSU Department of Theatre. Students are encouraged to express themselves through directing, acting, design, and production in a collective, experimental atmosphere of trial and error. Through this production organization, students are given the opportunity to think imaginatively in order to achieve their vision for storytelling on the stage.

Three Tall Women
by Edward Albee

From Dramatists Play Service:
“A young lawyer…has been sent to the home of a client, a ninety-two-year-old woman…[whose] long life is laid out for display, no holds barred. She cascades from regal and charming to vicious and wretched as she wonders about and remembers her life: her husband and their cold, passionless marriage; her son and their estrangement. How did she become this? Who is she?”

Number The Stars

"During the German occupation of Denmark in World War II, the Nazis closed down Jewish-owned businesses and began to round up the Jews for relocation to concentration camps for the final solution. Danish freedom fighters of all ages risked everything in daring, hurried attempts to rescue the entire Jewish population. In this stirring new play, young Annemarie and Kirsti Johansen face soldiers, interrogations, fierce dogs, personal danger, the loss of loved ones and their own fears as they try to help their friend Ellen Rosen escape across the ocean to Sweden and safely."
