MFA Design Candidate
Peter Verhaeghe graduated Magna Cum Laude from Albion College in December of 2014 with a BA in Theatre. At the USITT 2017 conference in St. Louis, MO, Peter co-presented on a panel entitled Oh the Places You’ll Go! Life After Undergrad. Alongside Amber Marisa Cook, he presented a faux blood technique at the USITT 2014 Poster Session in Fort Worth, TX after being the assistant costume designer for Big Love at Peppermint Creek. He also designed the sound and lights for Peppermint Creek’s Clybourne Park. Peter was the properties master at the Ohio Light Opera in Wooster, OH for seven productions in the summer of 2016 and during the summer of 2015 Peter was the properties master for four productions at the Black Hills Playhouse in Custer, SD. At MSU he has designed the sets for Pride and Prejudice, Punk Rock, and Summer Circle’s Bob: A Life in Five Acts. Peter was the lighting designer for Blood at the Root and won the 2016 Pulsar for Best Properties for his work on Stage Door. Peter’s major work for the 2017-2018 academic year will be the lighting design for The Misanthrope and the scenic design for American Idiot.
