Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be at a live episode of Friends… That 70s Show… or Seinfeld? Join a studio audience now on campus at MSU! This production is a collaboration between the College of Arts and Letters’ Department of Theatre, School of Journalism’s Digital Storytelling program, and WKAR Public Media.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE

“Recorded in Front of a Live Studio Audience” began as a bold idea to bring students and faculty together from across campus to do something that hadn’t been done before. The vehicle of this collaboration is an original sitcom, or multi-camera comedy, affectionally titled RA Holes. Sitcom has deep roots in theatrical practice, which makes it a perfect canvas for students in front, and behind the camera. What makes it unique, as you’ve likely noticed if you’ve ever watched a sitcom before, is that the audience is in the room while the show is being recorded. The audience becomes a crucial collaborator in the making of an episode — so, welcome, audience members! Every chuckle, giggle, laugh, and guffaw you share with us is recorded as a part of the laugh track we’ve all come to expect in the final edit of a sitcom episode, and more importantly, it’s an infectious gift that invites others into a space of joy. So kick back, loosen up, and watch these incredibly gifted students make something truly special.
