Lela is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC). For 25 years she made her living as an actress working in television, film and theatre while living in New York City and Los Angeles. Some favorite stage roles include The Waiting Room at the Mark Taper Forum for which she received a Los Angeles Ovation Award nomination and The Marriage of Bette and Boo at the Los Angeles Theatre Center for which she received a Los Angeles Drama-Logue Award nomination. She also appeared at the Ipswitch Theatre Festival in Massachusetts in Liberties Taken, directed by Julie Taymor.
