Liz Suggs writes TV, movies, and musicals. She got her start with an MA in journalism, writing columns for The Dallas Morning News, then moved to New York to pursue an MFA from the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. She's developed animated musical material for DreamWorks Animation and original pilot scripts for network and cable TV. Liz also wrote for the acclaimed theater webseries, SUBMISSIONS ONLY, which NYMagazine called “the best (funniest, smartest, warmest) series ever made about show folk” and EWeekly called “the best show not on TV.” Based on her time as a high school teacher, Liz wrote the comic musical REAL HARD MATH (music by Josh Jung), which aired on the PBS series, Musicals In the Making. And she wrote the book & lyrics for the romantic musical comedy, ONE GOOD DAY (music by Rona Siddiqui), which went on to win the 2015 ASCAP Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart Award, was named a best new musical of 2014 by the Festival of New American Musicals, debuted at the ASCAP/DreamWorks Musical Theatre Workshop with Stephen Schwartz, and was seen most recently at Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Other Palace in London and at the NAMT Showcase at New World Stages in NYC this fall. Liz currently writes for the new Disney TV series, COOP & CAMI ASK THE WORLD. Her work has been featured at the Broadway's Future Songbook Series at Lincoln Center, William Finn’s “The Best of Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don’t Know But Should” at 54 Below, and at the New American Musicals Showcase.
