Guest Guest Wig Designer of The Beaux' Stratagem (2011)

Heather Fleming has designed wigs and makeup for more than 100 productions. Since 2008, Ms. Fleming has been the Wig Designer at Actors Theatre of Louisville, creating wigs, hair and makeup for fifteen shows each season, includingSirens (Humana Festival Premiere), Maple and Vine (Humana Festival Premiere), DraculaPride and PrejudiceRaisin in the SunThe Kite Runner and many more. Other recent designs include the world premiere of Charles Smith's The Gospel According to James at Indiana Repertory Theatre and Victory Gardens Theatre, Dracula for Indiana Repertory Theatre,Amadeus for the Roundhouse Theatre and the Clarence Brown Theatre, The Last Night of the Ballyhoo for Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, Emerald and Love Song of the Dead Fishermen for Nimbus Theatre and Timon of Athens for Walden Theatre. Prior to Actors Theatre, Ms. Fleming was the Wig Designer for four seasons at the Barter Theatre.

Ms. Fleming holds an M.F.A. from the University of Illinois and enjoys teaching workshops and classes on a variety of wig-related topics. She has conducted workshops at Western Carolina University, University of Maryland, University of Tennessee, West Virginia University and many others. Ms. Fleming is also an active member of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology, currently serving as the Assistant Vice-Commissioner of Wigs, Hair and Makeup.
