Matt Greenbaum HeadshotMFA Acting Candidate

Matt Greenbaum relocated to East Lansing from New York City where he helped to form the company, Counting Squares Theatre, once hailed as Theater People of the Year bynytheatre.com.  Credits there include The Importance of Being Earnest, Bigger Than i  (premiered at FringeNYC), and Carpe Tunnel.  While in New York, he was also a member of sketch comedy group, The Polite Society, and studied with the LABryinth Theater Company as a member of their Ensemble Workshop.  Regionally, Matt spent three years at The Barter Theatre in Virginia as a member of their resident company.  Favorite roles at The Barter include Coty Webb (Tradin’ Paint), Edgar (King Lear), B-Flat (Second Samuel),and Romeo (Romeo and Juliet).  Other Regional credits include work at The Renaissance Center in Tennessee, Blowing Rock Stage Company in North Carolina and The Kentucky Shakespeare Festival.  Matt originally hails from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and received his BFA in Theater Performance from the University of Central Florida.  He is very excited to be part of the next Cohort at Michigan State University and thankful for the opportunity to continue the journey here..
