Karen Kangas-Preston, Senior Academic Specialist and instructor of costume design and technology, received her BFA in costume design and technology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and her MFA in costume design from Illinois State University.  

Select costume design credits include:  Smell of the Kill (Williamston Theatre/Tipping Point Theatre); the Greater Tuna series, Ebenezer, and Gravedigger (Williamston Theatre); The Jack Sprat Low Fat World Tour (a Wharton Center and MSU Department of Theatre collaboration); Cyrano de Bergerac, The Wizard of Oz, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Life, Tea and Sympathy/The Childrens Hour (in rep), Tartuffe, and Almost, Maine (MSU Theatre); The Drunken City, Blithe Spirit, and A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine (Summer Circle Theatre). She is a member of the United States Institute of Technical Theatre and its costume commission and the Costume Society of America.
