Specialist and Costume Shop Supervisor, Karen received her BFA in Design/Technical Theatre from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and her MFA in Theatre Costume Design from Illinois State University. Before coming to MSU, Karen worked in the costume shops and designed at UMD and ISU and was an assistant designer at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. She is a member of the United States Institute of Technical Theatre and its costume commission and the Costume Society of America. Karen’s design credits at MSU include The Life, Macbeth, Tea and Sympathy, The Children’s Hour, and Tartuffe. Designs for Summer Circle Theatre include The Nerd, Is He Dead? , A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, and Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
