THR492 - AFS Tutorial
Making your web page live
Every student at Michigan State Universtity is entitled to 100MB of AFS web space.
Step 1:
- Set up web site permissions. Direct a web browser to this link
- Log in, and select the "Manage Personal Web Page Permissions" option
- Ensure that "Public" is selected, then press the "Change web access" button.
Step 2:
- Upload your web page - Download and install SmartFTP from this link:
- Start the program and connect to the afs space, filling in host, username and password in the main interface
- Address: afs.msu.edu
- Username: your MSU NetID
- Password: your MSU NetID Password

- Press Enter to login, then click or double click on the "Web" Folder
- Drag and drop all your .htm, .html, .jpg, and .gif files to that folder
- Your main page should be named index.htm or index.html, and is now availible on the web at:
- http://www.msu.edu/~yourMSUNetID/
